Subject Final IP Warning -- Final Deadlines - May 10th and 24th, 2002 - All IP With The CME.
Effective Date 05/03/02
Notice Number CM#0226

As you are well aware, we have been converting our member firms and related software vendors and exchanges to IP topology and our new network. We began this effort last year and after accommodating changes concerning the give-up process and firm special circumstances we have extended our deadlines many times. Well folks, we have come to the end of the road!

The software and hardware that supports our old network must be retired at the end of this month. We cannot accommodate any additional extensions without incurring excessive costs to our IT department. Therefore, this is our final alert to your firms that you must complete your conversion to IP per the deadlines noted below. Failure to meet these dates, will result in a significant fine, based on the costs to the Exchange for continuing to leave our older infrastructure in place, exclusively for your firm.

May 10th: - 3270 Telnet: We will turn off any 3270 emulation (SNA) via leased line or the FIN. If your firm has some unique issues with your 3270 software, you must work these out with your software vendor(s).

May 24th RJE will go away: We will no longer route any data files or print reports via RJE. This means RJE via leased line or the FIN. You must and GET and PUT to our FTP server for data files and use VPS printing to a print queue or printer for print reports and Infopac printing. Those firms that are still testing with the GUS MQM fixed length record transmissions, should complete their testing and target a conversion date no later than May 24th.

If you are unsure of your status, desire to schedule testing or have any questions, you can contact one of the following Client Management-Operations staff:
